The Ogun State Police Command on Tuesday, 13 January, 2026 confirmed that controversial Nigerian singer , Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable has been denied bail following his arraignment before a Federal High Court in Ota, Ogun State, reports thegazellenews.com.
Portable was arraigned on Monday, 12 January, 2026, over multiple criminal charges, including assault, resisting arrest, and obstruction of police officers.

The Ogun State Police Command Public Relations Officer, Oluseyi Babaseyi, who confirmed the development to newsmen on Tuesday, 13 January, 2026, said the singer was arrested and remanded after his court appearance.
“Yes, he was arraigned and remanded yesterday,” Babaseyi told newsmen on Tuesday, 13 January, 2026.

The singer’s arraignment followed the circulation of a viral video showing him shirtless, handcuffed and visibly distressed while seated in what appeared to be a police holding facility.
According to the state police image-maker, Portable was arrested over allegations of assault against actress and skit maker Omobolarinde Akinyanju, popularly known as Ashabi Simple, one of his baby mamas and mother of two of his children.
According to the prosecution, the incident occurred on New Year’s Day at the singer’s bar in the Iyana Ilogbo area of Ogun State, where Portable allegedly attacked Ashabi, police officers and other individuals.
