An Ogudu Magistrates’ Court in Lagos State presided over by Magistrate M.O Tanimola, on Friday, 2 February, 2024, remanded a man named, Mohammed Isiaka, for allegedly defiling a three-year-old girl.

Tanimola ordered that Isiaka be kept at the Kirikiri Custodial Facility pending advice from the state director of public prosecutions.

The court did not take the plea of the defendant. Tanimola adjourned the case until March 1 for mention.

The prosecutor, Inspector  Donjour Perezi told the court that the defendant committed the offence on January 25, on Adebimpe Street, Kosofe, Mile 12, Ketu, Lagos State.

Perezi submitted that the defendant defiled the toddler by using his finger to penetrate her privates.

“According to the child’s mother, on that fateful day, the defendant brought the child to her from her friend’s place.

“She was bathing her daughter and discovered blood stains on her vagina.

“The defendant told her not to escalate the matter and said he would give her the sum of N20,000,” the prosecutor said.

The alleged offence contravenes Section 137 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015
