The member of the House of Representatives representing Ikeja Federal Constituency, Hon James Abiodun Faleke, has commended the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu and his team on the steps taken to control and curtail spread of the deadly coronavirus in the state.
The Gazelle News.com reports that the federal lawmaker gave this commendation in a press statement he personally released on Sunday, 22 March, 2020.
Speaking on behalf of the people of his constituency, Faleke, also Chairman of the House Committee on Finance, was particularly impressed with the way the case of the index case was successfully managed.
“That the first index case that came in through the Murtala Muhammad International Airport in the Ikeja Federal Constituency was managed and successfully discharged without any infection from that same source is a welcome development,” Faleke, a two-term former Chairman of Ojodu Local Council Development Area, said.
The lawmaker stated further, “that the new cases and all new imports via our airports and are being managed is also acknowledged. We also appreciate the Federal Government for all the interventions and expecially the closure of the international airports.
That while lives are being lost by advanced or developed countries, Lagos and Nigeria have managed the challenges even in the face of lack of adequate Infrastructure and enough personnel”.
Hon Faleke thus, has a serious message for the people of his constituency as the struggle to control and contain the deadly virus continues:
“To all our people in Ikeja and Lagos, please obey the instructions of government, stay at home, suspend social gathering, maintain clean hygiene, avoid crowded areas, if you have to pray, pray within your house as our good God is every where and at all the time”.
Hon. Faleke on behalf of the people his constituency expressed appreciation to Governor Sanwo-Olu and the state government at large for the excellent job they are doing in containing coronavirus in the state.
