Customs Officer Shoots Self Dead In Abuja

An officer of the Nigeria Customs Service(NCS), Abdulwahab Magaji, serving in the Federal Capital Territory, reportedly shot himself dead in his residence on Binta Street, Farm Estate area, Abuja.

It was gathered from a senior law enforcement officer that the sad development happened last Monday.

According to the source, the family of the deceased had raised the alarm that Magaji had shot himself with a rifle, prompting police officers to visit the scene of the incident.

The source added that when the police arrived at the scene, the victim was reportedly rushed to Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital, where he was confirmed dead.

 “A family of the deceased had raised the alarm that CSC Abdulahi Abdulwahab Magaji, a customs officer serving in Abuja, shot himself in his house at Farm Centre with a pump-action rifle.

“Police officers dashed to the scene of the incident and took the victim to the Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital, where he was certified dead by the doctor on duty,” the source said.

The source added that the body of the deceased had been handed over to the family for burial, according to Islamic rites.

As at the time of filing this report, Meanwhile, the FCT Police  Command has yet to comment on the development.

 Similarly, the Customs has yet to comment on the sad development as of the time this report was filed.
