The Onisabe of Igbobi-Sabe Kingdom, His Royal Majesty Owolabi Adeniyi has advised the Chairmanship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for Yaba Local Council Development Area, Anthony Adebayo Adefuye to see his running mate as a partner in progress with the main aim of achieving development and growth for the council, reports thegazellenews.com
HRM Adeniyi spoke on Friday, 20 June, 2025 when the APC flagbearer visited him in his palace to present himself as the official standard bearer for the coming local government elections slated for Saturday, 12 July, 2025.
“Your running mate should not be seen as a spare tyre rather as a partner in progress and co-pilot for you to develop this council and deliver dividends of democracy to the people,” the reverred monarch said.
He also advised Adefuye to take of all interests and stakeholders in his administration advising that he should not operate a winner-takes-all approach to governance.
“Operate an open-door police and embark on people-oriented programmes that will have direct impact on the people,” HRM Adeniyi advised.
Responding, Adefuye assured the reverred monarch to adhere to his advice.
“We didn’t make any mistake in coming here and we have received strict admonition from our father. We are assuring you, Kaabiyesi, that we have taken note of all you have said and we will abide by them,” the APC flagbearer said.
