Singer Laolu Gbenjo has called for an end to what he described as wickedness and manipulation surrounding the late Toluwanisings, urging those involved not to allow the situation to take a similar turn to the controversy that followed the death of singer Mohbad.
Speaking during a gathering held in honour of Toluwanisings, Gbenjo passionately appealed to everyone present to put an end to actions that could further complicate the situation.
He said, “And I want to beg you, in the name of God, I want to beg every one of us sitting here, on this ground, that we- wickedness that we are trying to do must stop.”
Describing Toluwanisings as a devoted servant of God and a man of integrity, the speakers at the gathering praised his character, stressing that “He served the Lord with all his heart” and “He was a pure man.”
Gbenjo also appeared to caution against attempts to manipulate the situation, saying, “Don’t turn to manipulation back,” while insisting that whoever was behind any such move should desist.
“Whoever is putting that thing together, wickedness must stop,” he declared.
The singer then urged those present to collectively reject such actions, telling them to repeat, “No more wickedness.”
Further describing the deceased as “a man of God,” Gbenjo and others expressed their affection for him, saying, “Toluwani, we love you.”
His remarks come amid growing emotions surrounding Toluwanisings’ death, with the singer appealing for peace, sincerity and an end to anything that could potentially worsen the situation.
