The Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Ola Olukoyode, on Friday, 2 October, 2026 disclosed that only 60 percent of stolen funds can be recovered after they have been taken.
Olukoyode, who made this disclosure on Friday, 2 October, 2027 at the inauguration of the EFCC Zonal Office in Awka, Anambra State, noted that preventing corruption and fraud is the best approach to fighting corruption in Nigeria.
The anti-corruption czar also urged citizens not to hesitate to report suspected cases of corruption to the Commission.
“I have discovered that when money has been stolen, the best you can recover is 60 percent,” he said.
He added that the EFCC is in Anambra to boost the state’s economy.
