A chief in Okemesi-Ekiti in Ekiti West LGA of Ekiti State, Gbenga Oyewole, has been disrobed by the Owa-Oye in Council over allegation of gross misconduct.

Thegazellenews.com learnt that the decision to relieve Oyewole of his title was reached at the statutory council meeting of the Owa-Ooye in Council held at the council chambers on Monday, 20March, 2023.

A statement made public by the council and made available to thegazellenews.com reads in part: “That you Honourary Chief Gbenga Oyewole has been relieved of your appointment as Olori Odo of Okemesi.

“That this decision was made by the council due to your acts of gross misconduct which have brought about undue embarrassment to the council.
