Also a former Chairman of Okpe and Udu Local Government Areas of Delta State, Ogbaburhon represented Ughelli North, Ughelli South and Udu Federal Constituency in the National Assembly between 2011 and 2015.

Gbagi, in a statement issued on Saturday, 27 June, 2020, described the deceased as a lover of his people.

Ogbaburhon was a former member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Delta State.

“Delta State has yet again lost an illustrious son whose contribution to the growth of the State is immeasurable.

“He was the Chairman of my campaign organisation when I contested for the Governorship seat in 1999.

“To the best of my knowledge, Ogbaburhon was a lover of his people who was passionate about selfless service. He will be greatly missed.

“My heartfelt condolences go to the Ogbaburhon family. It is my prayer that God will grant his family the strength and succor during this time of grief. May his soul rest in peace,” Gbagi said.

Ogbaburhon, who until his death was a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), was reported to have died at an undisclosed hospital in Abuja on Thursday, 25 June, 2020.
