Hon. Ganiyu Abiodun Johnson has congratulated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on his victory at the Presidential Election Petitions Tribunal, describing the verdict of the Tribunal as well delivered and  well-deserved.

The Tribunal verdict delivered by its Chairman, Justice Haruna Tsammani, on Wednesday, 6 September, 2023, dismissed the petitions of the Petitioners , majorly Mr. Peter Obi and Alhaji Atiku Abubakar of the Labour Party and PDP respectively, who challenged President Tinubu’s victory at the February 28 presidential election.

In the statement, Hon. Johnson noted that it was a judgement that reaffirmed the choice of Nigerians when they trooped out during the Saturday, 25 February, 2023 Presidential Election.

Johnson saluted the courage of the Tribunal in upholding the mandate given by millions of Nigerians, noting that the panel rose above sentiments and social media propaganda by the petitioners and their gullible supporters by proving that law has never been, is not and will never be an appeal to sentiments and emotions, as thought by the Petitioners who assume that sentiment is a route to confusing the court to give judgement in their favour.

“It is refreshing therefore that we have reached this threshold and I am confident that this outcome would strengthen the resolve of President Tinubu’s administration to take Nigeria out of the woods to the next level and allow Nigeria take her rightful and leadership position in the comity of Nations,” Johnson remarked.

Hon Johnson further congratulated the leadership and all members of the All Progressive Congress ( APC) for this landmark victory.
