The Chairman of the House Committee on Finance and Member representing Ikeja Federal Constituency, Rt Hon. James Abiodun Faleke, has congratulated the Governor and candidate of the Accord Party, Ademola Nurudeen Adeleke, on his re-election as Governor of Osun State.
Faleke made this known in a statement issued on Sunday, 16 August, 2026 a day after the governorship election in the state, commending residents for turning out in large numbers to exercise their civic responsibility and participate in the democratic process.
He wished Adeleke a successful tenure and urged him to continue working for the peace, progress and development of the state.
He also commended the APC candidate, Asiwaju Bola Oyebamiji, for his good outing in the election, praising the commitment, dedication and sportsmanship he demonstrated throughout the electoral process.
Faleke described the election as a clear testament that democracy remains alive and vibrant in the country, noting that it also reflected President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s commitment to upholding democratic values and respecting the will of the people.
He commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for the peaceful conduct of the election and for demonstrating independence in the discharge of its responsibilities, and also praised security agencies and personnel deployed across the state for their professionalism in ensuring a peaceful and orderly process.
He concluded by appreciating the people of Osun State for their resilience, peaceful conduct and commitment to democracy.
