Faleke Wins As Labour Party Candidate Loses At Tribunal

Member of the House of Representatives representing Ikeja Federal Constituency, Honourable James Abiodun Faleke has emerged victorious at the Election Petition Tribunal with the judges declaring him duly elected member to represent Ikeja Federal Constituency at the Green Chamber reports thegazellenews.com

Faleke, of the All Progressives Congress (APC) who is the Chairman of the House Committee on Finance was declared winner of the election which took place on Saturday, 25 February, 2023, by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

However not satisfied with the declaration by INEC, the Labour Party candidate, Kunle Okunola approached the National Assembly Elections Petition Tribunal, sitting at Igbosere in Lagos.

After months of legal fireworks by counsels to the applicant and the respondents, the three man panel dismissed the petition of the Labour Party candidate and declared Honourable Faleke, who was also the Secretary of the disbanded APC Presidential Campaign Council (APC PCC), duly elected. 

The three man panel are: Hon. Justice Ashu A. (Chairman) Hon. Justice Abdullahi A. Ozegya (Member I) Hon. Justice M.A Sambo (Member II) while Aminu Ahmed served as the Secretary to the Tribunal.
