The news of the tragic motor accident involving the superstar heavyweight boxer, Anthony Joshua (AJ), in which the lives of his two close friends were lost, is a sorrowful event one would wish could be reversed.
It’s a devastating blow to the global sporting ecosystem, particularly the sporting environment of developing nations like Nigeria, where Joshua and his two deceased friends shared heritage and were planning to deploy their remarkable presence in the world of sports to support, inspire, and grow potentially great but disadvantaged young talents.
Their usual visits to Nigeria, just like this tragic one that resulted in the fatal accident that threatened AJ’s life but painfully claimed the lives of his friends, were not just for fun, but another opportunity to demystify global fame.
They presented themselves as regular guys before the budding sports talents and fans in different local communities in Nigeria. This was an attempt to immerse the local talents in the physical experience of greatness and to get the fire of possibilities in the young ones to burn endlessly.
AJ is obviously the visible visioner. But his two close associates that died in the unfortunate accident were the oxygen that fuels many of Joshua visions.
May AJ experience divine healing from this traumatic incident. May God grant the families of Latz and Sina the strength to bear the monumental loss. And may God grant the two beautiful souls eternal rest.
