The FCT Police Command has arrested six suspects who specialise in registering SIM cards with other innocent citizens identities & selling them to criminals

The suspects, identified as: Ndubuisi Okeh, John Jock, Nafiu Tijani, Nasiru Sulaiman, John Njoku & Suleiman Musa were arrested on May 29, 2024 by a team of detectives from the State Intelligence Department

Parading the suspects on June 13, the FCT Commissioner of Police, said the suspects sold the SIM cards to criminals between N3,000 & N5,000

He noted that a total of 1,100 registered SIM cards; registration machines; 2 fingerprint machines & a mobile phone were recovered from the suspects

According to him, “It may interest you to know that 4 different numbers could be registered under a single NIN, hence these criminals employ street sim card vendors to get the details of unsuspecting residents who buy sim cards & register at the same time

The suspects have all confessed to the crime & will be charged to court at the conclusion of the investigation.”
