President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has again wielded the big stick by dismissing two Chief Executive Officers of two strategic government agencies, reports thegazellenews.com

The two dismissed officers according to a statement by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale on Monday, 8 January, 2024, are: Mr. Babatunde Irukera, Executive Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC); Mr. Alexander Ayoola Okoh, Director-General/CEO, Bureau of Public Enterprises (BPE).

“The two dismissed Chief Executives are directed to hand over to the next most senior officer in their respective agencies, pending the appointment of new Chief Executive Officers.

“By this directive of the President, their removal from office takes immediate effect,” the statement said.

The announcement of the dismissed officers came few hours after the President suspended the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Dr Beta Edu over contract scandal in her ministry.
