The Federal Government has condemned the recent terrorist attack in South Kashmir’s Pahalgam region, which claimed the lives of 26 people, most of them tourists, and left many others injured.

FG, in a statement issued on Tuesday by the Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Kimiebi Ebienfa, described the attack as a “tragic” and “heinous” act, expressing deep sympathy with the government and people of India.

“Terrorism in all its forms and manifestations is a global menace that requires collective action and firm commitment from the international community,” the ministry said.

Recalling its own experiences with terrorism, FG emphasised the urgent need for strengthened international cooperation to address extremism and prevent such incidents in the future.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with the people of India as they recover from this tragedy, and we stand united in the shared pursuit of peace, stability, and justice worldwide,” the statement concluded.
