In a landmark move, the Federal Government has declared technical education completely free in all Federal Technical Colleges (FTCs) across Nigeria.

Minister of Education, Maruf Tunji Alausa, made the announcement in Abuja, stressing that the government will cover all costs in line with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

The free package goes far beyond tuition — it includes boarding, uniforms, textbooks, exercise books, prospectus, ID cards, stationery, medical services, vocational charges, utilities, security, digital learning tools, extra lessons, and even insurance.

According to Alausa, the move is to guarantee equal access to education and remove financial barriers for Nigerian students.
