This is indeed good news for men of the Nigerian Police Force as the Federal Government, through the Nigeria Police Force Pension(NPFP), on Monday, 5 October, 2026 disclosed that plans are underway to review upward the monthly pensions for them..

The Acting Managing Director of the( NPFP), Muhammad Dutse, who made this disclosure on Monday, 5 October, 2026 at an event, said the Federal Government is working to ensure that police officers battling insecurity have a decent pension upon retirement.

Dutse appealed to police officers to exercise patience with the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu administration.

“We have been working to ensure that the pay, the income pay of retirees is improved.

“So I would not want to disclose the entirety of the arrangement because it’s a Presidential Committee that is working on it, set up by the President himself, and that is why we firmly believe that this initiative is going to yield positive results at the end of the day.

“So that is why we want to continue appealing to police officers to exercise patience.

“Remember, police is in charge of the security of this country, and that is why Mr President has taken it seriously to ensure that their take-home has been improved,” he said.
