At least five people were killed, while one person was injured in a road accident that occurred on Monday, 24 April, 2023 at Tashan Durumi Village along Bauchi-Jos Road in Bauchi State.

The state Sector Commander, Federal Road Safety Corps, Yusuf Abdullahi, who confirmed the accident to newsmen, said the crash which involved an Astra Ventra commercial vehicle with number plate JJN-358PU occurred around 7.05am.

According to him, the FRSC was informed of the crash around 7.08am and officials responded and arrived at the scene within 26 minutes.

Abdullahi said the crash was caused by a speed limit violation which led to a loss of control, adding that those involved in the crash included two male adults and four female adults.

The FRSC boss said the corpses of the deceased, one male adult and four female adults, as well as the injured person, were handed over to the officer in charge of the Tashan Durumi outpost of the Nigeria Police Force.

“Motorists should always drive within the approved speed limits and also observe road traffic rules and regulations,” he advised.
