German Embassy Warns Nigerians Against Visa Agents

Nigerians who relied on patronizing visa agents to process their travelling documents to Germany have been warned by the country’s embassy in Nigeria have been warned to desist from doing so as they are not their representatives, saying those interesting in getting visas should contact the embassy directly, reports thegazellenews.com. 

The German Embassy warned Nigerians against relying on misinformation from so-called visa agents when seeking information about visa applications to come to the country.

The embassy’s warning comes amid the circulation of potentially misleading information about visa applications and procedures.

The embassy handed down the warning through a post on its official X handle  account on Wednesday, 26 August, 2026,  appealed to  Nigerians to obtain visa-related information directly from official sources.

“Beware of misinformation. Save yourself the hassle & just ask us directly,” the embassy said, just as it also said it  will encouraged Nigerians to share claims they had heard from “visa agents” in the comments, saying it would address some of the claims in upcoming posts.

“Tell us some of the things you’ve heard from ‘visa agents’ in the comments, and we’ll answer in upcoming posts,” it said, just as it also clarified that it does not have partnerships with visa agents.

“We do not work with any ‘visa Agents’!” the embassy stated, just as it also added that all relevant information is freely available through its official website.

 The embassy also urged  Nigerians to verify such information through official channels to avoid unnecessary costs, confusion and possible fraud.
