Comrade Governor Nasir Idris of Kebbi State’s loyalty to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration appears to be yielding results, with several intervention programmes and projects benefiting the state.

According to Abdulllahi Idris Zuru, Special Adviser to the Governor on Communication and Strategy, since assumption of office, Governor Nasir Idris has been noted for his loyalty to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and supportive of the various laudable developmental programmes being implemented under the Renewed Hope Agenda.
He added that in recent times, Governor Idris has got the consent of the President on execution of developmental projects and critical issues of humanitarian services.

The recent was President Tinubu’s decisive actions that led to the successful rescue of the 25 students of Government Girls Secondary School, Maga following Governor Idris’ appeals and assurance of continued complementary logistics support.
Zuru revealed that within a short period of time, President Tinubu had at different intervals despatched the Chief of Army Staff, Vice president Kashim Shetima and the Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle to ensure immediate rescue of the abducted students which have been achieved.

Also believed to have been responsible for President Tinubu’s favourable disposition to Governor Idris’ request was the Governor’s complementary support in the execution of valuable socio-economic development programmes for the benefit of his people regardless of which arm of government is responsible for it.
The provision of 100 Hilux vehicles, 5,000 motorcycles and complementary financial support to security agencies towards combating armed banditry in Kebbi State must have been another factor responsible for the President’s decision.
Governor Idris’ acknowledgment of President Tinubu’s achievements has created mutual respect between the leaders, with the Kebbi State APC chapter been the first in passing a vote of confidence for the President’s re-election bid in 2027.
Comrade Nasir Idris has regularly visited President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to express the appreciation of the government and people of Kebbi State over various intervention projects and programmes of the Presidency in the state.
