Gombe State Governor, Alhaji Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya has expressed deep sorrow over the death of respected businessman and community leader, Alhaji Muhammadu Manzo, Sarkin Doyan Gombe, who passed away earlier today in Gombe after a protracted illness.

According to a Press release issued by Ismaila Uba Misilli, Director-General, Press Affairs,
Government House, Gombe which was made available to Journalists on Tuesday, 26 May, 2026, Governor Inuwa Yahaya described the deceased as a humble and generous individual whose life was dedicated to the service of humanity, and community development.
The Governor noted that the late Sarkin Doyan Gombe was well known for his role in mentoring and supporting upcoming businessmen, helping many young entrepreneurs to grow and establish themselves through guidance, encouragement and acts of kindness.
According to the Governor, the death of Alhaji Muhammadu Manzo is a huge loss not only to his immediate family but also to the business community, the people of Dawaki community and Gombe State at large.
He extended his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family, particularly the eldest son of the deceased, Malam Kabir Ibn Mohammed, his siblings and relatives, as well as traders in the Gombe Yam market and residents of Dawaki community.
The Governor prayed Almighty Allah to forgive the shortcomings of the late Alhaji Muhammadu Manzo, accept his good deeds and grant him Aljannat Firdaus.
