Gunmen have abducted 19 people in separate attacks in the Mani community near a factory in Rido Ward, Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State, and at Danhonu II, Millennium City, Kaduna.
In the Mani community, the gazellenews.com gathered that the bandits kidnapped a woman and her three children on the morning of Thursday, 5 September, 2024.
A source from the area, who preferred anonymity , said six of his relatives were among those taken into the forest.
“Nineteen persons were abducted from three houses in Mani village, opposite the Indomie factory, Rido Ward, Chikun LGA, Kaduna State, in the early hours of today (Thursday). I know the names of my relatives involved. We are deeply concerned, especially since we have yet to hear from the abductors. The victims include a nursing mother with four children, young people, and an infant,” the source said, just as he also called on the authorities to rescue the victims.
In another related development, two months after the abduction of journalists and their family members in Danhonu II, New Millennium City, Chikun Local Government Area, gunmen attacked the community again, kidnapping a mother and her three sons.
The hoodlums stormed the house of Mr. Mutiu Adeleke, abducting his wife and their three sons, leaving him behind.
As at the time of filing this report, the Kaduna State Police command has yet to comment on the development.
