Another resident was shot by the gunmen on his thigh and was taken to Ningi General Hospital, where he is currently receiving treatment.

It was also gathered that the gunmen headed towards the Ningi forest after operating in the village for many hours and went away with the wife and the son of the village head.

Monday’s incident has added to the spate of attacks and kidnappings in Ningi LGA, where insecurity has been giving residents a serious concern.

Recall that in the last few weeks, a series of kidnappings had occurred in the area, with not less than four persons abducted, two others gruesomely killed, and a number of others injured.

Reports have it that residents of different villages attacked had paid not less than N50 million as ransom to secure the release of their people abducted during the operations.
