The ancient largest city in West Africa, Ibadan literarily stood still for international business mogul,Kola Karim as the Olubadan, Oba Saliu Adetunji installed him as the Agbaoye of Ibadanland, Saturday,3rd April,2021.
The polo loving CEO of Shoreline Energy Limited deployed all his connection and clout to the grand event.

The crème of Nigerian society and business partners from across the world were there to witness the historic occasion including Ooni of Ife, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Governor of Kwara State, HE Abdulrahman Abdulrasaq and former Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II.

Agbaoye of Ibadanlan is the highest honorary traditional title in the ancient town and the last personage to be so honoured with the title and its responsibilities was the late Chicago billionaire and one-time Presidential aspirant, Chief Harry Akande.

The colourful and cultural installation ceremony was held at the impressive Palace of the Olubadan amidst a lot of drumming, singing and fanfare. The high point of the ceremony after the session of prayers was when the new Chief Kola Karim was formally decorated as the Agbaoye while his beautiful wife, Chief (Mrs) Olufunke Karim was declared as the Yeye Agbaoye of Ibadanland.

The new Agbaoye, a huge but silent philanthropist, hosted guests to a top notch reception at the popular Jogor Centre-and as expected, it was well-attended.

Other guys included: Hajia Bola Shagaya, Prince Tokunbo Sijuwade, Prince Rasaq Oluwole, Otunba Funsho Lawal, Oscar Onyeama, Prof. Osato Giwa-Osagie (Representative of Oba of Benin), former First Lady Oyo State, Alhaja Olayinka Ladoja .
