The Senator representing Lagos West Senatorial District in the Upper Legislative Chamber, Senator (Dr) Idiat Oluranti Adebule has been named the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), reports thegazellenews.com.
The Senate President, Senator Godswill Akpabio announced the appointment on Monday, 7 August, 2023 during plenary while constituting standing committees for the 10th Senate.
Adebule, popularly called Mama West, represents arguably the largest Senatorial District in the country.
She was the Deputy Governor of Lagos State during the administration of Akinwunmi Ambode.
Previously, she was the Secretary to the State Government (SSG) during the second term in office of Governor Babatunde Raji Fashola, SAN.
An experienced administrator, Senator Adebule is also a member of the Governor’s Advisory Council (GAC), the highest decision-making body in Lagos State.
