The Igando-Ikotun Local Council Development Area (LCDA) has once again distinguished itself in the health sector, winning multiple awards at the 2025 Lagos State Health District I (LSHD1) Award & Reward Ceremony held on Wednesday, 6 August, 2025.
The prestigious event, which took place at Providence Hotel, Ikeja GRA, was organized under the theme: “Building Healthier Future Together: Celebrating Partnership, Innovation and Service.”

It brought together key health stakeholders to recognize and reward excellence in healthcare delivery across the district.
Igando-Ikotun LCDA emerged a dominant force, proudly clinching top honours in the following categories:

Best Medical Officer in LSHD1
Best Pharmacist in LSHD1
Best Environmental Health Officer & DSNO in LSHD1 and Lagos State
Best Performing Local Government Health Authority (LGHA) Chairman – Dr. Abikoye
Best Performing Ward Health Committee (WHC) Alliance Chairman – Elder Osibeluwo
These recognitions are a strong testament to the unwavering dedication, professionalism, and collaborative spirit of the entire Igando-Ikotun LCDA health workforce.
The council Chairman, Snr. Comr. Lasisi Ayinde Akinsanya, was represented at event by Comr. Muhammed Soliu Osoja, his immediate past Senior Special Assistant on Budget and Planning.
Others at the event are: the Council’s Medical Officer of Health (MOH), Dr. Anthonia Uti-Momah; the LGHA Chairman, Dr. Abikoye; and the WHC Alliance Chairman, Elder Osibeluwo, both of whom were also honoured for their outstanding leadership and commitment to community health.
“This milestone achievement is a proud moment for the entire council and serves as motivation for continuous improvement in public health service delivery,” a statement from the council Public Affairs unit said.
