The Chairman of Igando-Ikotun Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Lasisi Akinsanya, has emerged sixth on the list of best-performing council chairmen in Lagos State, according to the Eko Conference 57 LG/LCDA Performance Ranking released in July 2026.
The ranking, published by Eko Conference 57 Reporters as part of a “One Year in Office Special Edition,” was designed to evaluate the performance of all 57 local government and local council development area chairmen in Lagos State, one year after their inauguration.
According to the report, Akinsanya polled 91 per cent to secure the sixth position on the log, trailing behind Ikosi-Isheri LCDA Chairman, Bada Sammy, who topped the chart with 98 per cent, Iru Victoria Island LCDA Chairman, Alabi Aminat, who placed second with 96 per cent, and Onigbongbo LCDA Chairman, Adebanjo Adetola, who ranked third with 94 per cent.
Others ahead of the Igando-Ikotun helmsman on the table were Kosofe Local Government Chairman, Ogunlewe Moyosore, who came fourth with 93 per cent, and Lagos Mainland Local Government Chairman, Emilagba Jubril, who occupied the fifth spot with 92 per cent.
The report disclosed that the ranking was based on key performance indicators, including health, education, infrastructure, environment, youth empowerment, and residents’ opinions across the 20 local governments and 37 local council development areas in the state.
Findings from the ranking showed that Akinsanya’s 91 per cent rating placed him ahead of several of his colleagues, among them Shomolu Local Government Chairman, Ashimi Lateef, who scored 90 per cent to place seventh, and Mushin Local Government Chairman, Aruwe Haruna, who followed with 89 per cent in eighth position.
The organisers explained that the assessment was carried out to promote transparency, accountability, and development across all local councils in Lagos State, stressing that the exercise aimed at unveiling the most impactful local council leaders in the state one year into their administration.
At the bottom of the log, Mosan-Okunola LCDA Chairman, Akindele Opeyemi, recorded the lowest rating of 40 per cent, while Isolo LCDA Chairman, Olasoju Adebayo, and Agboyi-Ketu LCDA Chairman, Adetola Abubakar, followed closely with 41 per cent and 42 per cent respectively.
The Eko Conference 57 Reporters noted that the ranking would be sustained periodically to keep council chairmen across the state accountable to their constituents, while urging residents to continue engaging with the process through feedback and opinions on service delivery in their respective councils.
