Super Eagles striker, Kelechi Iheanacho, continued his strong form at Celtic with assist in their 4 – 0 victory over Partick Thistle in the Scottish League cup quarter final on Sunday, 21 September, 2025.
Hyun Jun Yang opened the scoring in the 26 minute before Liam Scales doubled the lead two minutes later.

After the restart, Sebastian Tounekti combined with Iheanacho in sharp one two to slot home his first goal for the club. Substitute Luke McCowan completed the rout in the 79 minute.
The Nigerian player, who scored late penalty against Kilmarnock on his debut, showed further quality with his link up play.
Celtic Coach, Brendan Rodgers, praided his fitness calling him “one of the leanest players in the squad” despite limited minutes before arriving in Glasgow.
The result sends Brendan Rodgers’ side into the semi finals where they will face bitter rivals Rangers at Hampden Park on 1-2 November. The other tie will see Motherwell take on St Mirren.
After the victory, Rodgers expressed delight with the performance noting his side showed improved fluency and tempo.
