The Chairman of Ikeja Local Government, Comrade Akeem Olalekan Dauda, on Tuesday, 5 May, 2026 received the General Manager of the Lagos State Parking Authority (LASPA), Mrs. Adebisi Adelabu, during a courtesy visit to his Ikeja House office.

Mrs. Adelabu, who was accompanied by members of the LASPA management team, commended the Chairman for his impactful strides in office and his commitment to grassroots development. She noted that the visit was aimed at strengthening institutional relationships, familiarizing the agency with the local government structure, and exploring avenues for strategic collaboration between LASPA and Ikeja Local Government.

The General Manager also highlighted operational challenges faced by the agency within Ikeja and called for the support and cooperation of the local council in addressing these issues to enhance efficiency in parking management and enforcement.

In his response, Dauda appreciated the visit and lauded Mrs. Adelabu for her leadership, dedication, and commitment to the effective delivery of LASPA’s mandate. He reaffirmed the readiness of Ikeja Local Government to partner with the agency in achieving shared objectives.

The Chairman further emphasized the importance of youth engagement, urging LASPA to consider creating employment opportunities for youths within Ikeja as part of efforts to address operational challenges while also contributing to the reduction of unemployment.

Members of the LASPA delegation included: Head of Human Resources, Ms. Mariam Adeboyejo; Head of Monitoring and Enforcement, Mr. Aladeyemi Adeoba; Head of Operations, Mr. Adegorioye Abiru; Deputy Head of Operations (Commercial), Mr. Olademiji Shitta; Head of Public Affairs, Mr. Divine Dunkwu; and Deputy Team Lead, Public Affairs, Mrs. Damilola Ajisebutu.

Joining the Chairman in receiving the LASPA team were: the Vice Chairman, Hon. Abisola Omisore; the Secretary to the Local Government, Prince Adeyinka Illo; members of the Ikeja Local Government management led by the Council Manager, Mrs. Juliana Taiwo Odubeko; Supervisory Councillors; and Special Advisers.
The meeting underscored a shared commitment to improved service delivery, effective traffic and parking management, and sustainable development within Ikeja.
