The Chairman of Ikeja Local Government, Comrade Akeem Olalekan Dauda, demonstrated his unwavering commitment to service and development by working till the last day of the year, reports thegazellenews.com.

The Ikeja LG Chairman was at Onipetesi area of the council on the last day of the year, Wednesday, 31 December, 2025, to inspect the ongoing construction of the link bridge connecting the Onilekere and Onipetesi communities.

The inspection underscores the Chairman’s resolve to ensure that key infrastructure projects promised to the people of Ikeja are delivered as scheduled and to the highest standard.

It will be recalled that during the electioneering campaign, Dauda pledged to construct a bridge that would link the Onilekere and Onipetesi communities to enhance ease of movement, boost commercial activities, and strengthen community partnership.

The promise is steadily being translated into reality, as construction work has commenced and is progressing satisfactorily.

Upon completion, the link bridge which is expected to be commissioned in the coming months, will significantly improve connectivity between the two communities, reduce travel time, and stimulate economic and social interactions for residents.

The project is designed as a legacy infrastructure, being the first of its kind in Ikeja Local Government, and notably, it is being achieved within the first year of the Dauda administration.

This milestone reflects purposeful leadership, effective planning, and a clear commitment to people-oriented governance.
