The Executive Chairman of Ikeja Local Government, Comrade Akeem Olalekan Dauda (AKOD), on Tuesday, 29 July, 2025 witnessed the official oath taking and proclamation of the 7th Legislative House of Ikeja Local Government.
The ceremony, which marks the first official engagement of the Executive Chairman since assuming office, was held at the Legislative Chamber of the Council Secretariat.

In his address, Dauda congratulated the newly inaugurated councillors and charged them to uphold the principles of transparency, dedication, and service to the people. He emphasized the importance of unity, cooperation, and shared vision in moving Ikeja Local Government forward.

He called on the legislators to work closely with the Executive for the benefit of the people, as development can only thrive in an atmosphere of peace and collaboration.

The event was well attended by party leaders, led by Alhaji (Mayegun) Dally Adeokun, Chairman of Ikeja chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC); members of the party across the six wards, and top council management staff ably led by the Council Manager, Mrs. Juliana Taiwo Odubeko.

3. Majority Leader – Hon. Ganiyu Lawal
4. Chief Whip- Hon. Idris Opeyemi Salami

6. Dep. Chief Whip – Hon. Saburi Obadeyi
