The Chairman of Ojo Local Government, Hon. (Princess) Muhibat Titilola Rufai, has reaffirmed her administration’s commitment to environmental cleanliness as the council prepares to resume the Lagos State Monthly Environmental Sanitation Exercise.
Speaking at a stakeholders’ meeting held on Thursday, 23 April, 2026, the Chairman engaged sanitation officers, CDA leaders, market leaders, youths, Environmental Tax force and key stakeholders ahead of the exercise scheduled for Saturday, April 25, 2026, between 6:30 am and 8:30 am.

The meeting, which had in attendance the Vice Chairman, members of the Executive Cabinet, and the Legislative Arm of the Local Government, was convened to sensitize stakeholders on the objectives and expected outcomes of the sanitation initiative.
Addressing stakeholders, Hon. Rufai emphasized the importance of collective responsibility in maintaining a clean environment, declaring, “I’ll be on the streets with my broom and shovel, leading by example” as a show of leadership and commitment to the cause.

She charged residents, market leaders, Community Development Associations (CDAs), Community Development Committees (CDCs), and youth groups to actively participate and take ownership of their surroundings.
She stressed that her administration is determined to make Ojo one of the cleanest local governments in Lagos State, noting that government efforts alone are not sufficient without community involvement.
“The management of Ojo Local Government is committed to ensuring that every nook and cranny of the council is clean, but this can only be achieved with the cooperation of all residents,” she said.
Residents were reminded of the health and environmental benefits of proper sanitation, as the council continues its drive toward a cleaner and healthier Ojo.
