The Chairman of Imota Local Council Development Area, Hon. Benson Sunday Ayodele, has praised the federal lawmaker representing the Ikorodu Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives, Babajimi Benson, for donating a fully equipped ultra-modern ambulance to Imota General Hospital.
The Chairman described the gesture as a significant boost to healthcare delivery and enhancing emergency medical services within the community.


Hon. Benson, who was represented at the event by the Vice Chairman of Imota LCDA, Hon. (Princess) Abisoye Omowunmi Jimoh, gave the commendation during the official presentation of the ambulance held on Monday, 2 March, 2026, at the premises of Imota General Hospital.
The ambulance was commissioned by His Royal Majesty, Oba (Dr.) Mudashiru Ajibade Bakare-Agoro, CFR, the Ranodu of Imota, Olufoworesete II. The federal lawmaker was represented by the Director-General of iCare Foundation, Mayor Deen Sanwoola, alongside the management staff of the General Hospital, Imota and other dignitaries.
Speaking on the donation, Hon. Benson noted that the intervention reflects Rep. Benson’s unwavering commitment to improving the welfare of his constituents through impactful interventions. He stated that the newly donated ambulance is equipped with modern medical facilities capable of providing immediate life-saving support during emergencies.

The Chairman stressed that timely medical intervention remains a critical factor in reducing mortality rates, especially in cases involving accidents, maternal health complications, and other urgent health conditions.
He added that the donation aligns with his administration’s “Hi-SEE” transformation agenda, which prioritizes accessible and quality healthcare for residents of Imota LCDA.
Describing the gesture as both symbolic and strategic, the Chairman appreciated Rep. Benson for consistently supporting projects that cut across healthcare, education, infrastructure, and youth empowerment across Ikorodu Federal Constituency. “This ambulance is not just a vehicle; it is a symbol of hope, responsiveness, and genuine representation,” the Chairman remarked.
Following its commissioning, the ambulance was formally handed over to the Medical Director of the General Hospital, Dr. Adenike Omosun. In his address, the Ranodu of Imota called on well-meaning Nigerians and corporate organizations to emulate the gesture by supporting the hospital’s efforts to provide sustainable healthcare services to residents of Imota and its environs.

He described Rep. Babajimi Benson as a reliable and responsible representative whose contributions continue to positively impact the community, while also urging the hospital management to ensure proper maintenance and restrict its use strictly to emergency purposes.
In her remarks, Dr. Omosun, assured that the ambulance, fully equipped with advanced life-saving technology, would be effectively deployed to strengthen critical emergency services and accident response, nothing that the intervention represents a timely and strategic contribution to preventing lives in Imota and its environs.
The event attracted a large gathering of dignitaries, health professionals, political stakeholders, community leaders, members of the iCare Foundation.
