Following the continued indiscriminate dumping of refuse in and along the Agege Motor Road corridor in Oshodi Market, the Chairman of Oshodi-Isolo Local Government, Otunba Kehinde Oloyede-Almaroof, has ordered a total clean-up of the area.
He also directed the Environmental Department of the council to ensure strict enforcement.

To ensure effective clearance of the accumulated waste, several defaulting shops along the axis were sealed, while one individual was arrested for attempting to obstruct government officials from carrying out their lawful duties.
This enforcement action follows several warnings earlier issued to the marketers to clean up their environment and desist from indiscriminate refuse disposal.

The enforcement team, led by the council’s Head of the Environmental Department, Mrs. Ogunshola Adebukola, executed the Chairman’s directive and ensured that all defaulting shops were sealed.
Marketers, shop owners, and residents are again urged to put an end to indiscriminate refuse dumping within the market and across the local government area. They are advised to patronise PSP operators for proper waste disposal.
According to the council chairman, enforcement will be continuous and comprehensive until indiscriminate dumping of refuse is eradicated.
He also charged PSP operators to ensure regular waste collection in the market, warning that any defaulting operator will be reported to the appropriate authorities for necessary sanctions.
