The Chairman of Odiolowo-Ojuwoye Local Council Development Area, Hon. Seyi Jakande, led a comprehensive walkthrough of Ilupeju road on Monday, 15 September, 2025.
Accompanied by his Vice Chairman, his team of councillors, and the Chief of Staff, Jakande engaged with local building contractors and roadside mechanics to discuss the pressing issues facing the area, particularly the deteriorating condition of the road.

During the walkthrough, Jakande raised alarms over the alarming accumulation of refuse, the presence of abandoned vehicles, and the improper dumping of sand in gutters and along the roadways.
The Chairman emphasized that these issues not only pose health risks to residents but also contribute to the degradation of the environment.

The areas addressed during the visit included Ibadan, Muftau, Ajegunle, Owodunni, Shobayo, Oladiti, and Olajubu streets.
“This is our community, and it is our collective responsibility to ensure it remains clean and safe for everyone,” Jakande stated. “We must work together to tackle these challenges and promote a healthier environment for all.”

Jakande’s initiative reflects his administration’s commitment to improving the quality of life for residents through sustainable environmental practices. The chairman plans to engage further with stakeholders to develop actionable solutions to the issues identified during the walkthrough.
