In a significant turn of events at the All Progressives Congress (APC) delegates’ primary held on Saturday, 10 May, 2025, at Acme, Ikeja, Lagos State, Hon. Seyi Jakande has emerged as the party’s standard bearer for the chairmanship position of the Odi-Olowo/Ojuwoye Local Council Development Area (LCDA) in the forthcoming local government elections.

The election saw an impressive turnout, with delegates expressing their strong confidence in Jakande’s leadership.

In an appreciation message addressed to party leaders and esteemed delegates, Hon. Jakande expressed his gratitude for the overwhelming support he received during the election process. “Your trust and confidence in me inspire a profound sense of responsibility that I hold very dear,” he stated, underscoring the importance of unity within the party.

A notable highlight of the event was the remarkable commitment shown by two delegates who made the effort to vote despite being hospitalised. Jakande specifically acknowledged their dedication, stating, “Your dedication exemplifies the strength of our party and the commitment to bring about meaningful change in our community.”

Hon. Jakande also extended his thanks to the party leadership in both Odi-Olowo/Ojuwoye LCDA and Mushin LGA, as well as his loyal supporters who have steadfastly stood by him throughout his political journey. “Your unwavering loyalty and encouragement have been invaluable,” he remarked.

As he celebrated his victory, Jakande emphasised the importance of collaboration among all candidates in the race, inviting his fellow contestants to unite their efforts to elevate the LCDA to new heights. “Let us remember that in this process, there are no losers. Together, we can pave the way for progress and prosperity for all our constituents.”

Looking ahead, he called upon supporters to continue their momentum as the party prepares for the main local government election, reinforcing the idea that this victory is just the beginning. “Together, let’s work tirelessly to ensure a brighter future for Odi-Olowo/Ojuwoye,” Jakande urged.

With his sights set on the upcoming elections, Jakande is ready to lead the charge towards a more prosperous and unified community for the Odi-Olowo/Ojuwoye LCDA.
