The Chairman of Odiolowo-Ojuwoye Local Council Development Area, Hon. Seyi Jakande, has officially launched the e-Birth Registration initiative in collaboration with the Lagos State Government and the National Population Commission (NPC). The event, held at the LCDA Secretariat, marked a milestone in the council’s push for transparent, efficient governance under his HEWA Agenda.
Jakande described the digital system as a “game-changer” for data accuracy and access to social services. “This aligns with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s Smart City Vision. No child will be left unregistered,” he said.

He further emphasized: “Every child deserves a legal identity. This innovation makes registration faster, safer, and inclusive. It’s a right, not a privilege.”
He praised the NPC and stakeholders for their collaboration, noting the project will bridge gaps in rural communities.
The LCDA urged nursing mothers, health workers, and community leaders to support the initiative by bringing their children to the Council Secretariat for the digital registration.
“Registering children digitally secures their future,” Jakande added.
The E-Birth Registration, which has begun immediately, will enhance data accuracy and streamline documentation.
