Office of the Chairman of Odi-Olowo/Ojuwoye Local Government, Hon Seyi JAKANDE, was a vibrant hub of activity and dialogue this past week, playing host to a diverse set of community groups, professional bodies, and political stakeholders. From Monday (Nov 10) to Friday (Nov 14), a steady stream of visitors underscored a week dedicated to partnership, feedback, and celebration of a key administrative milestone.
The week commenced with a focus on grassroots development as the Iyaduni Women Group, led by their Deputy Chairperson, Mrs. Olori Dupe Onisiwo, met with Hon. Jakande on Monday. This was swiftly followed on Tuesday by the energetic presence of the JAKO Youth Vanguard, led by Cmr Asiwaju Mayowa, highlighting the administration’s engagement with the younger demographic. A frame was presented by the JAKO Youth Vanguard to the chairman to congratulate him on his successful 100 days in office, to formally name him the Grand Patron of the JAKO Youth Vanguard, and to unveil the constituted Vanguard executives from all political zones within the LCDA.

Midweek, the spotlight turned to the arts and culture sector. On Wednesday, a delegation from the Theatre Arts and Motion Pictures Practitioners of Nigeria (TAMPAN), led by the renowned Paul Lagbeti, paid a courtesy visit, signaling the importance of the creative industry in the local government’s development agenda.
Thursday saw a strategic internal meeting as the Local Government Committee on Food and Nutrition (LGCFN), convened at the chairman’s office to visit him briefly after deliberation on pressing issues concerning food security and public health within the community has been addressed in the Conference 57 Head of Agriculture and Social services, Lagos State. meeting held in Odi-Olowo Ojuwoye LCDA secretariat.

The week culminated in a festive and productive Friday, largely centered on congratulating Hon. Jakande on the successful completion of his first 100 days in office. The day witnessed a triple-header of visits, beginning with Indigbo representatives in the APC who came to extend their congratulations.
They were followed by the Crystal Ladies Club, led by their President, Alhaja Bukola Rukayat Shittu. The club not only paid a courtesy visit but also presented a gift to the Chairman in honour of his achievements during this initial period.
Simultaneously, a joint delegation from the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Odi-Olowo/Ojuwoye Branch, and the National Association of Odi-Olowo/Ojuwoye Tertiary Students (NAOTS) visited the office. While congratulating the Chairman on his 100-day accomplishments, the groups also took the opportunity to air their concerns. In his response, Hon. Jakande promised to assign a dedicated office space to their associations, a move hailed as a step towards greater youth inclusion and support.
