The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has commenced registration for candidates seeking admission into Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE) programmes in Colleges of Education and Non-Technological Agricultural Programmes in Polytechnics nationwide.
The Board announced the commencement of the registration exercise in a statement issued on Wednesday, 22 July, 2026 by its Acting Director, Public Affairs and Protocol, Dr Fabian Benjamin.
It explained that the exercise is being conducted through designated Institutional Professional Registration Centres (IPRCs) in Colleges of Education and JAMB Professional Registration Centres (PRCs) across the country for candidates who possess the required O’Level credits.
JAMB said the registration followed the Federal Government’s earlier decision to waive the requirement for candidates seeking admission into NCE and Non-Technological Agricultural Programmes to sit the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
The Board, however, stated that it had put in place a robust admission process to ensure that only qualified candidates are admitted while maintaining and enhancing the quality and standards of the programmes.
It explained that under the new policy, eligible candidates are only required to visit any designated IPRC or JAMB PRC with their O’Level credentials to complete their registration, adding that there is no requirement for them to sit the annual UTME.
JAMB, therefore, urged prospective candidates to take advantage of the opportunity by promptly visiting the designated registration centres in Colleges of Education or JAMB offices nationwide to complete the registration process.
The Board further disclosed that candidates who participated in the 2026 UTME but later decided to pursue NCE or Non-Technological Agricultural Programmes could convert their applications at any designated IPRC or JAMB PRC without paying any additional fee.
It added that the policy is designed to expand access to NCE and Non-Technological Agricultural Programmes while preserving and enhancing the quality of the educational pathways.
