The management of Streams of Joy International, the church led by Pastor Jerry Eze, has reacted to a viral video in which a lady accused the church of failing to refund an alleged erroneous transfer into its account.
The controversy trailed a video circulating online in which the lady, identified as Sandra Okpara, claimed she mistakenly transferred N1.640 million into the church’s account and was yet to get the money back.
She insisted the sum was not an offering and appealed for its return.
“I mistakenly sent N1,640 million into Pastor Jerry Eze’s church account. Please, I need the money back. It’s not an offering,” she said.
Reacting via a social media statement, the church said it had not received any call, email, direct message or formal complaint from Okpara before the video was published.
It explained that Streams of Joy routinely receives and resolves reports of erroneous transactions through its established verification process.
The church disclosed that it had since contacted Okpara using the phone number shown in the video to investigate her claim, assuring that appropriate action would follow if the allegation proved valid.
“In any case, we have called her to investigate further using the number in the video. If all her claims are valid, we will do the needful,” the statement read.
The church added that its team remained available and committed to addressing all genuine concerns transparently and responsibly.
