A passenger train has crushed a Lagos state government owned BRT staff bus at PWD junction, Ikeja area of the state on Thursday, 9 March, 2023.
The train was coming from Agege and met a BRT vehicle with the Lagos state government workers on board crossing the rail to link Ikeja GRA, one of the sympathisers said.
It was uncertain the number of casualties but the BRT bus was smeared with fresh blood of the victims.
Rescue workers are seriously having a very difficult time evacuating the victims.
Many of the injured victims have been rushed to the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH), Ikeja.
The accident has caused a gridlock on the Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway for motorists coming from Oshodi around Shogunle to Ikeja-Along.
