The Director General of Kami Empowerment Foundation, Ambassador Motunrayo Mariam Williams-Johnson, has praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the introduction of the student loan scheme and monthly allowance for indigent students of tertiary institutions in the country, describing the initiative as a major relief for parents, students and members of her foundation.

Williams-Johnson made the remark in an appreciation message issued on Tuesday, 10 March, 2026 stating that the intervention had benefited her biological children as well as associates of the Kami Empowerment Foundation, while also providing financial relief to many families across the country.
She described the programme as a landmark step in educational support, noting that such an initiative had not been witnessed in the nation’s history.

“A big thank you to Mr President, His Excellency Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for the student loan and monthly allowance for my biological children and members of my foundation, Kami Empowerment Foundation associates. This is a big relief for us. In the history of this country, there has not been such a move,” she said.
She further described the loan scheme as a breakthrough that should be appreciated beyond political interests, stressing that the reform reflects the impact of the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
“The student loan is a major breakthrough for many of us. Beyond politics, Ashiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu deserves another term for his laudable reforms under the Renewed Hope Agenda,” she stated.
Williams-Johnson added that the scheme is already yielding results, noting that beneficiaries area of receiving both the loan and the monthly allowance as promised.
“The student loan is not a mirage; it is working, including the monthly allowance. On behalf of Kami Empowerment Foundation members and non-members, we say a very big thank you to Mr President,” she said.
She also commended the management of the Nigerian Education Loan Fund for what she described as a well-coordinated and strategic disbursement process, saying the implementation demonstrated commitment to educational empowerment nationwide.
“It will not be good to fail to appreciate the hardworking team members of the NELFUND management for a well-coordinated and strategic approach to disbursement to schools. Your contribution to the Renewed Hope Agenda is highly beneficial and impactful,” she added.
According to her, the scale of the intervention shows the government’s commitment to human capital development, noting that the programme represents a clear dividend of democracy.
“As a parent, civil servant and humanitarian, I know what it means to carry out such massive educational empowerment across the board. Indeed, it is a dividend of democracy that cannot be ignored because of its impact in all regions of the country,” she said.
She expressed optimism that more benefits would emerge from the administration’s policies and urged Nigerians to continue supporting the government’s programmes.
“The Renewed Hope Agenda will continue to showcase more benefits for Nigerians. The Renewed Hope Agenda is not selfish; let us join in the next phase to make it a reality again,” she said.
