Branch of National youth council of Nigeria (NYCN) in Kebbi state, has rejected protest organised by publisher of Sahara Reporters, Omoloye Sowore- to press for the release of detained Ndamdi Kanu billed to hold on Monday.

The state Chairman of the youth body in Kebbi state, Engineer Ahmed Rufai Khalifa in a statement on Monday, 20 October, 2025, stated youth in Kebbi are not part of the protest saying the youth have no reason to partake in a protest in a matter already before a court” I want to make it be clear that we are not part of the protest, our state Kebbi is peaceful and we will maintain the prevailing peace in the state”

Khalifa admonished youth in Kebbi to resist calls by agents of destabilasation to join free Kanu protest as no development or progress can be achieved under a harsh atmosphere.

He stressed that our youth will channel their energies in building the state through meaningful avenues as provided by both federal and state governments particularly in Kebbi state under the leadership of Dr Nasir Idris whose sole intentions is to build an army of youth who  will help in delivering dividends of democracy not partake in protest that may result in chaos or even loss of lives and property of innocent citizens.

He urged youth in Kebbi state to continue to support Kebbi state government and the federal government as they strive to give meaning to the lives of teaming youth of Nigeria.

He maintained that all youth organizations affiliated to NYCN are not part of the free Kanu protest as they agreed to allow the court to do its works.
