The abductors of the Kwara Monarch, Ojibara of Bayagan, Alhaji Kamilu Salami, has reportedly made contact with his community, demanding a staggering ₦100 million ransom for his safe return.
Salami was abducted from his farm in the Ifelodun Local Government Area on Saturday morning.

The demand, communicated to family early Sunday, 30 November, 2025, has plunged the Bayagan community into deeper distress, raising fears about the monarch’s safety and the possibility of meeting the huge financial demand.
The source said: “The abductors demanded for N150 million, but after negotiations they pegged it down to N100 million”.

The source stated that the captors used the monarch’s phone to contact members of the royal household.
“The kidnappers have finally called. They are demanding a sum of ₦100 million to release our king,” another source said.
The abduction of the Ojibara of Bayagan follows a series of recent security breaches in Kwara State, including the kidnapping of two chiefs and a mass abduction of church worshippers in the Ekiti Local Government Area, all of which have heightened concerns over the escalating banditry problem in the region.
