The Labour Party Chairman in Rivers State, Hilda Dokubo, has been suspended as a member of the party in her ward, Asari Toru Local Government Area of the state, News Agency of Nigeria(NAN) reports.

This was contained in a letter written to the Labour Party Chairman of the Asari Toru LGA and signed by the Ward Chairman, Mr Ajalamonia Ibama; the Secretary, Mr Lole Amacheer; and the Treasurer, Mr Emmanuel Ibamathe.

Others who signed the letter were: the Women leader, Mrs Osaki Dieypiriye; and the Publicity Secretary, Osaki Dokubo.

According to NAN, the 54-year-old actress was suspended on Thursday, 18 July, 2024, after the party’s ward executive committee held an emergency meeting on July 15.

Dokubo was said to have been accused of financial misconduct, abuse of office, and breach of party regulations, among other allegations.

The ward executives said that the decision was made following a thorough investigation into these allegations, saying they reportedly uncovered substantial evidence.

She is yet to respond to the allegations
