A chieftain of the Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has passed onto glory, reports thegazellenews.com
Honourable Haruna Yusuf, popularly called ‘Ilerika’ died on Tuesday, 21 July, 2026 at his Agege residence after a protracted illness.
Thegazellenews.com reports further that the deceased politician was buried on Wednesday, 22 July, 2026, in accordance with Islamic injunctions.
The late Yusuf was the younger brother of late former Nollywood actor, Ajigijaga.
The deceased politician was elected Councillor for Ward C, Agege Local Government during the aborted Third Republic on the platform of the Social Democratic Party (SDP).
He was a political leader and one of the respected politicians in Agege.
Thegazellenews.com reports further that one of his daughters, Mariam, was once elected Councillor of the same ward on the platform of the APC.
Haruna ‘Ilerika’ was described as “a dedicated servant of the people, a man of honor, integrity and wisdom” who was widely recognized for a life of service and a legacy of impact in Agege.
