The Lagos State House of Assembly has confirmed the appointment of three nominees as members of the Lagos State Local Government Service Commission, while the consideration of two other nominees was stepped down for further scrutiny, reports TheGazelleNews.com.
Thegazellenews.com reports further that the confirmation was made during plenary on Thursday, 23 July, 2026, presided over by the Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. (Dr.) Mudashiru Ajayi Obasa.

The decision followed the presentation of the report of the 12-member Ad-hoc Committee on the Screening of Nominees by the Chief Whip, Hon. Mojeed Fatai, who chaired the committee.
In the report, the committee recommended the confirmation of Mr. Bamgbola Hakeem, Mr. Olaleye Shamsideen, and Mrs. Olabanji Folashade as members of the Lagos State Local Government Service Commission, having found them qualified for the appointments.
However, the House resolved to step down the nominations of Mr. Durosinmi Yinka Mursiq and Mr. Seriki Ahmed to allow for further scrutiny before a final decision is taken on their appointments.
Following the adoption of the committee’s report, the House confirmed the appointments of the three nominees and directed that the remaining nominations be revisited upon the conclusion of the additional review process.
The Lagos State House of Assembly reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring that only competent and qualified individuals are entrusted with public responsibilities, in line with its constitutional mandate of oversight and good governance.
