In a strategic move to accelerate grassroot governance, the executive chairman of Lagos Island local government, Hon. Prince Taiwo Ajibade OYEKAN sworn in the secretary to the local government, Supervisors and Special Advisers at a well attended ceremony in the council secretariat conference hall, today Monday 9, March 2026.
The oath taking ceremony was conducted by the council legal officer, Mrs. Iyabode Adewunmi.
In his speech, Hon. Oyekan charged the newly sworn-in council officials to adhere to ethical standards and civil service guidelines in the discharge of their duties to ensure efficiency, accountability, and professionalism.
“It is a call to serve and contribute your inputs to my administration,” the Mayor said
Speaking on behalf of the appointees, the secretary to the local government, Hon. Howells Olusegun Adedeji said the trust and confidence the chairman reposed in them would be reciprocated by being loyal, committed and deliver excellent service to the people and his administration.
