Members of the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) in Eti-Osa Local Government Area of Lagos state have cried out over the alleged imposition of the daughter of a member of the Governor Advisory Council (GAC), Omoba Murphy Adetoro’ as the Chairmanship candidate.
The members of the Eti-Osa chapter of the party who expressed their displeasure while addressing journalists at the weekend called on the leadership of APC in the state to demonstrate the spirit of Justice, Equity and Fairness as enshrined in the Party’s Constitution on zoning.

Speaking on behalf of the group, a member from ward C who does not want his name mentioned in print emphasised that APC may suffer defeat in the forthcoming Local Government elections if party leadership failed to address the issue on zoning as early as possible.
It was gathered as alleged that ward A, Ikate Elegushi Zone alone has the Apex Leader/GAC member Omoba Murphy Adetoro, Hon. Prince Anofi Elegushi (National Commissioner of Operations) NAHCO, Prince Oyekan Elegushi (General Manager) LASIMRA, Hon. Adeola Alimot Adetoro (Vice Chairman) Eti-Osa Local Government and Hon. Lukmon Elegushi (Super for Health) Eti-Osa Local Government and yet Omoba Murphy Adetoro alledegedly wants to use the advantage of been a GAC member to hatch the plot to impose his daughter as the candidate of the party having spent almost eight years as the Vice Chairman of the present administration.
” Why most it be only Ward A and Ikate Elegushi Zone alone. Life is give and take! where is the fairness, equity and justice that is enshrined in our party constitution,” they asked.
While lamenting, they said, ” how can one ward and a zone continue to dominate due to an influence of a leader.”
They further said, if such act is not addressed and every bonifide member is given equal opportunity and the party doesnt take appropriate measures to stop the alleged injustice, the defeat we suffered from the opposition that resulted to our losing the House of Representatives seat in 2023 to Labour Party will be worst than that in 2027.
In addition, they recall that “President Bola Tinubu won the presidency as a result of zoning to an extend that he was supported even by the opposition leaders who believes in fairness and equity.”
Therefore, urged the leaders in Eti-Osa to learn from the aforementioned and respect the zoning arrangement and allow the people to choose their most popular and sellable candidate instead of imposing an unpopular candidate.
They emphasised that justice and fairness is the only sure way to save the party from another bad outing now and in 2027, just as they added that “APC belongs to all of us.”
